Bob Richards

Bob Richards

Not too much is known about Bob Richards, being a recent convert to the Man fold. It will be no surprise to learn he is Welsh, and a few years younger than his colleagues. (There is no truth in the rumour spread by Martin Ace that Bob is on a youth training scheme). He spent time playing with little known bands, and came to the Manband's collective attention after doing some session work at Rockfield. Bizarrely, he wasn't actually too familiar with Man's music, yet his first live outing with them was at the prestigious Shepherds Bush gig in September 97. And as I was there, I can confirm it was a cracker - more details in the Reviews section.

His style is somewhere between the brute force of Pugwash and the subtlety of Terry Williams; his biggest drumming influence is Deep Purple's Ian Paice.
